Most of us try to grow either plants or trees. Inevitably, you will have to treat a problem that threatens your plant or tree. We have an entire arsenal at the big box stores to choose from that will kill insects, fungus, virus, and bacteria. Their drawbacks are well known. There is another option. One can use biology rather than chemicals. Effective microbes can be sprayed on leaves that will colonize the leaf so no other destructive fungus or bacteria can take hold. Sea minerals, seaweed, and neem oil can be sprayed on trees to increase their strength to fight off diseases. The key is to think biologically rather than chemically to get the best for us and for our environment in our gardening journey.
